Pre-K potters will have a clayful experience by exploring basic handbuilding skills to create themed magnet from a slab of clay. Pieces will be left for firing and available for pickup 2 weeks after the last class. All supplies included. Jewelry doesn't always have to be shiny. In this fun and experimental weekend workshop we will explore textures and chemical patinas and ways to combine them in finished work. I will show you how I use paste solder and cold connections in combination with multiple surface finishes. Beginners are welcome but if you are a seasoned maker we will work on how to add something new to your style. A supply kit can be purchased from the center for $25. In this class, we will explore the planographic printmaking process of lithography, which operates on the principle that oil and water don’t mix. Waterless lithography is a versatile process that utilizes the repellant characteristics of silicone to replace the toxic chemicals typically associated with traditional stone lithography. Students will learn platemaking, printing, and problem-solving strategies of creating reproducible drawn images. Beginning, intermediate, and advanced skill levels are welcome! Create a ceramic tealight house in time for spooky season or for the cold winter months ahead! We will spend the first two classes creating and decorating our houses, while the final class will be focused on glazing them. This class is fast paced but beginner friendly. We will use slab construction and templates to create our base houses, leaving most of the decoration up to your imagination! All supplies included. 3 sessions. Instructor: Ashley Bonner.

Discover the versatility of hinges in your jewelry designs. The hinged bracelet will incorporate several soldered hinges that reticulate the metal pieces to bend around the wrist. You will be a hinge expert by the end of this class. Create each section with any shape suitable for a hinge and decorate each with etching, stamping, a gem, or sweat soldering. A $25 supply fee is due to instructor at first class, which covers: copper sheet, copper tubing, copper wire, copper chain, sand paper, solder, gemstone, saw blades. 6 sessions. Books can come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and styles. In this workshop, we will learn the basics of bookmaking starting from creating simple accordion-style books with single sheets of paper. Then, we will move on to making a simple pamphlet book using cereal boxes. Finally, we will culminate in making a Japanese stab-stitch book using new and recycled materials. If you want personalized pieces, feel free to bring your own cereal box and other papers. A $5 supply fee is due to instructor at the beginning of class to cover all other supplies. 1 session. Embracing the art of slow making and borrowing from ancestral stitching techniques, we will work with our hands to lovingly patch and beautify our gently worn garments.
