The Chavis-Dix Strollway is envisioned as a walkable, urban cultural trail, designed to safely connect pedestrians between the city’s heritage sites of downtown – the Dorothea Dix Park and the John Chavis Memorial Park. As the second cultural trail of Raleigh, it builds on the South Park Heritage Trail (SPHT) elements to continue the storytelling to celebrate Raleigh’s rich cultural heritage.
Community Engagement
Your input will guide what comes first on the Chavis‑Dix Strollway. Take the community input survey to share your priorities and influence this new cultural trail.
Thanks to those who attended the second public meeting on August 20. For those who were not able to attend, please check out the presentation.
Community engagement events, pop-ups, and stakeholder meetings will take place throughout all phases of the project.
